Morocco Projects 6 New Resorts for 2010 Tourism Scheme RABAT, Mar.17 - Morocco is planning the creation of six new tourism resorts, part of its promotion scheme that ambitions to attract 10 million tourists by 2010.
In the easternmost town of Saidia, 60 km from Oujda, H.M. King Mohammed VI launched on Sunday construction works of the Saidia-Ras El Ma sea resort. The project will have a 15,000 bed capacity.
In the Atlantic ocean city of El Jadida, El Haouzia golf resort will ne nestled at the mouth of Oum Rabiaa river, with an 8,000 accommodation capacity.
Near the Atlantic city of Essaouira, the Mogador resort with an 8,000 bed capacity will be designed for tourists seeking sports and culture.
Another high-standing resort, 15 km away from the southwestern city of Agadir, will be built with a 23,000 hosting capacity.
The Plage Blanche sea resort, 50 km at the south of Sidi Ifni, will be Morocco's first eco-tourism project, with a 26,000 bed capacity.
The sixth station with a 12,000 bed accommodation capacity will see the light in Khmiss Sahel, 5 km from the northern city of Larache at the mouth of the Loukous river.
The Moroccan tourism promotion strategy outlined by HM king Mohammed VI last February will "enable our country to attract some 10 million visitors annually by 2010.” The sovereign had called professionals from both the public and the private sectors to “combine efforts and work hand in hand within this framework.”
“Morocco has already accomplished a lot in this field, mainly by securing a substantial increase in tourism investments, and by bringing accommodation capacity up to 10,000 new beds in the year 2003, compared to an average of 1,500 new beds per annum in the second half of the 1990's.”
The plan also comprises the building of hotel facilities specifically tailored to meet domestic tourism needs.
The challenges lying ahead should be faced by each one of you, with resolve, creativeness and optimism. There should be no room for pessimistic, negative or "wait-and-see" attitudes, HM king Mohammed VI had instructed promoters and tour operators.

MAP Hallo Elvire, die notwendigen Personentransporte werden wohl, wie in anderen Ländern auch, mit Bussen abgewickelt, die zwischen Flughäfen und Hotels pendeln.
Schönen abend @all
