The blocked part of the national road, relating Akhfinir and Tarfaya with Laâyoune, the main city of the southern Morocco, was reopened Sunday. The road has been blocked during three days because of Oudri river flood, reported MAP news agency.

Heavy transports started to take the road, which has been submerged by the flood Sunday morning. The flood, which has reached a level not witnessed for almost 20 years, blocked traffic for three days.

The flood, due to abundant raining on Tuesday and Wednesday, has almost paralysed and isolated the region.

“The main roads, relating Laâyoune with Tan Tan and Smara, were reopened Sunday at dawn,” declared a governmental source to AFP.
